Tsunami of plastic wastes, death of marine animals due to consumption of plastic bags, harmful microplastics found on the surface of disposable water bottles etc. These are some of the reasons why our world is encouraging the reduce of disposable plastic products and also choosing reusable thermal flasks and water bottles.
We strongly encourage everyone to bring along their own meals and drinks container wherever they go. With proper care of your lunch box or thermal flask, not only will it increase the lifespan of your flask, but also indirectly reduces your chance of using disposable products. However, not everyone knows how to take good care of your meal and drink companion. Below are some suggestions for you on how to increase the life span of your thermal flask.
Soap and Water Method (Recommended)
1st of all, use clean water to remove loose buildup as loose buildup can make your thermal flask seem more dirtier than it actually is. You may pour a moderate amount of clean water into the thermal flask and shake it firmly for 2 - 3 minutes, then pour out the water.
Next, add in some dish soap into the thermal flask, fill the flask with a moderate amount of clean water and then shake it well to clean it. If there is some stubborn buildup, you may need to scrub it. To remove stubborn buildup from the inside of flasks, you will have to use a sponge scrubbing tool instead of a stainless-steel scrubbing stool as it will damage the inner layer of the thermal flask.
The final step will be rinsing the thermal flask. You may repeat this process as needed. Remember to allow the thermal flask to air dry completely before storing it because storing a thermal flask while it is still wet or capped could cause it to smell musty.
Other than the above method, there are also some successful method being used by the locals.
Tea Bag Method
The easiest way to clean your thermal flask is by using tea bag. Put a tea bag in the thermal flask and add boiling water to it. Fill the bottle and leave this mixture in the flask overnight. Throw away the mixture in the morning and the bottle will be spotlessly clean.
Baking Soda Method
Another smart way to clean your bottle is by using baking soda. This affordable method can help you to clean the entire flask, including the lid. To clean the flask, you can either use only baking soda or a mixture of baking soda and vinegar.
Mix 1 teaspoon of apple cider vinegar and a teaspoon of baking soda with warm water. Let the mixture sit in the bottle for some time. After that, scrub the bottle and rinse it well. This solution is ideal for removing odors.
Vinegar Method
Another easy way to clean your thermal flask is by using vinegar. If your thermal flask has coffee or soup stain, just apply some vinegar as it can help you to remove them with ease. Mix vinegar with ice cubes or warm water and shake it for a few minutes. Scrub the walls of the flask with a sponge brush and rinse the flask properly so that it may dry properly.
Feel free the try out the above methods. However, we strongly recommend you to use the Soap and Water Method.
