Do you know that forests cover 31% of the land area on our planet??
Our survival depends on the forest as forest are able to purify the water, air and provide people with jobs. 13.2 million people across the world have a job in the forest sector while another 41 million have a job that is related to the sector.
Other than that, animals also rely on the forests to provide them their daily foods and shelters. Eighty percent of the world's land-based species such as elephants and rhinos live in forests. Forests also play a critical role in mitigating climate change because they act as a carbon sink. Their jobs are to soak up the carbon dioxide. Otherwise, it would be free in the atmosphere and contribute to ongoing changes in climate patterns.
But currently, forests around the world are under threat, jeopardizing these benefits as the threats manifest themselves in the form of deforestation and forest degradation.
"One-third of all trash produced is containers and packaging plus 29 million tons of corrugated cardboard are generated annually" - based on 2010 EPA Report.
For the above information, it is equivalent to 493 million trees or 1.5 trees per person, per year.
Therefore, we would like to announce that starting from this year, Year 2020, there will be #NoHangTag for all subsequent New Relax® Thermal Flasks & Water Bottles.
- The information on the Thermal Flask Hang Tag will be transferred to the Inner Flap of our packaging box.
- The information on the Water Bottle Hang Tag will be Printed Directly on the water bottle.
One of our main objective is the 3R - Recycle, Reduce & Reuse. Although the effort might be small, but we believe that it will gradually became a big impact in the future.
